Sometimes you need something a little sweet. Here’s a quick and easy recipe and only about 100 calories…no guilt!
Chocolate Mug Cake:
2 TBSP Flour
1 1/2 TBSP Maple Syrup (you can use sugar, makes it about 175 calories)
2 tsp Cacao Powder (you can use cocoa powder)
1/4 tsp Baking Powder
2 TBSP Milk
1 tsp Canola Oil
1/8 tsp Vanilla Extract
pinch of salt
- Spray a mug or ramekin with cooking spray. Combine the flour, maple syrup, cacao powder, baking powder, and salt in the mug or ramekin. Whisk gently until there are no lumps. Stir in the milk, oil and vanilla until smooth.
- Microwave for 35 seconds. Don’t overcook! or it will be rubbery. The cake will continue cooking for the next minute as it sets.
- Cool for 3-5 minutes and top with whip cream or your favorite fruit. I LOVE Smucker’s Simple Delight Salted Caramel Topping or raspberries.
